Nature's woes

Yesterday was Earth Day! The day of celebrating and conserving our home planet...

We may have some fancy days to protect our Earth, but by one day no change will take place, everyone must make everyday an Earth Day. At least baby steps, like walking or cycling near distances, planting saplings etc. I have written a poem depicting the Early days when the Earth was lush and beautiful, until the animals wanted a leader...


                                                                 Nature's woes



Many moons ago,
When the globe was tender,
She was clothed in blankets of jungles,
A plethora of flora,
And draped in fauna,
There was plenty of water,
That flowed through the steep hills and vast valleys,
Quenching the thirst of every organ,
Flowers blossomed and bloomed,
Decorating dear Earth like a Goddess,

The air around smelt like fresh baked cherry pies,
Right out of the oven,
Every drop of dew,
Hid beneath the comfy hands of the leaf,
The weather was so cool and fresh,
Not even one dry day,
Not even one freezing day,
She was given all the love from heaven,

All the organisms prayed for a new creature,
Capable of leading them,
The Gods answered their prayers after a long thought,
And created a beast,
As he stepped on this land,
Destruction, Damage and shattering followed,
Being the most violent,
Hurting all innocent ones,
Chopping the heads of all humble beings,
Harming his own 'planet home',
Which he thought to be his 'own,'

Blinded by greed and agony,
Showed no mercy even to Her,
She was so bruised,
No bandage could ever bind her together,
She regrets her choice of a new creature,
Crying loudly beneath the crust,
