The Republic Day Parade

Freedom in the mind, Strength in the words, Pureness in our blood, Pride in our souls, Zeal in our hearts, Let's salute our India on Republic Day.

Happy 72nd Republic Day everyone! This was the day when in 1950, the Constitution of India came into effect- making India a Republic. Hence, to commemorate this event, every year a stunning parade takes place in Delhi which showcases the might of India. On my to-do list every republic day it says Watch the Parade 🤣. I view it from start to end and I love the intricacy and beauty the parade brings out every year! Here I have written the poem which describes the parade. 

The Republic Day Parade

26th January, the glorious day

When the chilly weather of Delhi

Fills up with warmth, cheer, and enthusiasm 

The day our country emerged a republic. 

A marvelous parade unfolding, from the Amar Jawan Jyoti

Paying tribute to the courageous martyrs

Who sacrificed their lives

For our peaceful days. 

Awards for their indispensable service

Admiring actions taken for the land

A bittersweet moment for all of us

Expressing our colossal gratitude. 

With the National anthem concluding

The daring armed forces march forward 

Decked in discipline, presenting their valor

They advance in harmony.

Spectacular tableaux follow

Adorned with rich culture and heritage

Dancing & singing to the upbeat rhythm

All the states standing united.

As the parade draws to a closure

With breathtaking stunts on motorcycles and planes

My heart soars with pride and delight

The power of our country showcased in a day…
